We will draw the winner of the Voucher the 1st Sunday of each month from all the comments left on the design team blogs! Remember, you have until 8:00 pm CST Saturday to leave your comments! So come hop along with us and be inspired to create.

I was inspired by our talented Loves Rubberstamps Video Designer Lynda Evan's fabulous watermark tutorial in her 'Boop Beep Robot Goodie Bag' video, to give watermark stamping a go. I had this cute stamp from Whiff of Joy and a little dude's birthday to celebrate, so thought it was time I gave this technique a go. You can find lots of gorgeous Whiff of Joy stamps at the Loves Rubberstamps store. I used my Alcohol Markers to colour the image and I watermarked the paper using a Versamark Watermark Stamp Cube and some leafy floral stamps I had in my stash, you can find stamps that would work for this technique here. I inked the lovely Whiff of Joy sentiment using Memento Olive Grove Ink. I also put a sentiment on the inside of the card which I inked again with Olive Grove Memento Ink.

I love the way the watermark ink looks on this cardstock. Both my hubby and sis when they looked at it, said, gosh it looks like leather! So I thought that was kind of a fun finish to end up with. I diecut the circle for the image using a die that cuts stitches both inside and outside the main cut, but you can find a similar die here. I then mounted the watermarked cardstock on foam pads to give a bit of dimension to the card and added some matching toned enamel dots to finish.

Fab 'n' Funky - Christmas Already?!

Hey there, my lovely crafty pals. I am here again with my DT creation for the latest Fab 'n' Funky challenge. You know we have a mission to help you reach your quota of Christmas cards by giving you a monthly challenge to join in with them and it's 'that' time again. So we want to see you pulling out your tinsel, glitter and baubles and Christmas crafting along with us. Ginny is our lovely hostess this challenge and has the joy of choosing the Top 3. Our sponsor this challenge is the wonderful Bunny Zoe's Crafts, so the winner is in for a fabulous treat.

I have wanted to do a Christmas card with this cute pair ever since I first saw them on one of my lovely craft buddies blog. They are just too dang cute and with that sentiment, it's a really fun Christmas card. You can see the cards that inspired me here and here. Thanks Nic, you're a constant source of inspiration! x

I used lots of glitter on this card but in small touches. On the star, tree baubles, her dress, her scrunchy and the Memory Box Precious Stars. You really need to get up close and personal with this card to see the details.

I've use a Whimsy Stamps Corner die and added a pearl. I added pearls to the Memory Box Precious Stars dies too. I edged most of the papers with dark green ink and of course, my image is coloured with my trusty Promarkers. The sentiment and the sweet image are both from Stampendous and you can find them here. The image is called 'Tree Trim Kiddos'. Though you'll note I've coloured them up as grey haired elves! LOL.

I hope you'll come join in the Christmas fun at Fab 'n' Funky this week. I'm so in the right mood for it, as it's dead of Winter here and feeling like Christmas 'should' be just around the corner. (We loved our 'Winter Christmas Years' in the UK). Thanks for popping in to visit my blog today and I'll be back again really soon with another crafty adventure. Hugs, Wends x

Loves Rubberstamps - Die Cuts & Pop Art

Hey there my lovely blog buddies. I've a super busy week with DT posts this week, today it's time for a new challenge on the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge. Man I am LOVING hanging out with this talented crew. They really do create some incredibly inspiring projects. I so need to up my game! LOL. Make sure you pop on over to the challenge blog to check out their fabby creations.

We have an easy and fab challenge theme starting on the blog today chosen by our lovely Pam. It's use a 'Diecut'. Now who doesn't have at least one or two diecuts in their stash? So there's no challenge there really! We'd love to see where this takes you. I had a plan to use a sweet image from our sponsor 'The East Wind' and at the last minute had to change to a different image. So I, who usually has plenty of diecut options up my sleeve, had to really think 'outside the box' for how I was going to include a diecut in my envisioned card. Thanks to a little suggestion from hubby to tilt the image after I'd cut it, I think it all worked out rather well. This style is totally different for me. I don't play too much with ink, I'm a stamp and colour girl, so when thinking about what to do with this image, all I could think was ink, ink, ink! Most unlike me! I frankly don't know what's come over me! LOL. So here it is, my very different, inky creation. I'd love to know what you think!

My fabulous Inkssentials Non Stick Craft Sheet got a good work out with this card. I usually use it to keep the distress ink I've inked the edges with and glue off my work surface, but today, the mat was part of the action! I swiped three distress inks across the sheet, which totally coincidentally were the exact three from the 2012 Spring Special Edition set of Distress Inks. I misted the inked mat with water so it would droplet a bit, moved the mat to give the ink some runs and merge them a bit and then laid the watercolour paper with the laser printed image over it and rubbed over the back keeping it very still, so I didn't turn the inks into one giant colour soup! I must say, I've never done this before, and this won't be the last time. It was so fun! I'm not a 'pop art' kinda girl, but I really did love making this. The image was a freebie offered by The East Wind in their June Newsletter. As it's still June, if you like it, you should so go sign up, their images are fab and you might still be able to snag it. Here's a closer look at the funky image itself.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my crafty adventure today, it sure was something a little different for me, but oh so fun to do. I hope you'll come and join in the challenge at Loves Rubberstamps and show us your crafty creations using diecuts. We look forward to seeing them! Did you check out our bloghop? We have one every Sunday and there is a fantastic prize up for grabs at the end of the month to one lucky commentor of a $20 voucher to Laura's fabulous store 'Loves Rubberstamps'. I was playing with a cute stamp I bought some years ago from Wee Stamps and have never yet inked up. So I decided to pull out my Promarkers and some distress ink and have some fun. You can find this 'Wee' cutie here at the Loves Rubberstamps store and it's called Xmas Hamster. I took my colour cues from the paper I wanted to use, so went for a grungy finish as they were quite dark tones. But I think this wee hamster looks kinda styley in his dark red Christmas cape with its fluffy trim. I've used a Marvy Uchida Snow Pen for this fluffy edging.

Sweet Stampin' - Bingo!

Hey there my lovely blog buddies. We have a new challenge starting up, over on the Sweet Stampin' challenge blog and we are having some fun with a 'Bingo' board. So many options, there's loads of scope for creativity. I had so many ideas when I saw this bingo board, but I was really drawn to using the orange, or the brown, or the orange, or the brown, okay, I couldn't decide, so I used them both! But my 'line' is the Emboss, Die-cut, Orange line, though I snuck in a flower too. If I had some brown pearls, I could have had a cross! LOL.

You have to go check out what my awesome teamies have done with this challenge, they have had some really fantastic ideas from this bingo board. You're sure to be inspired and we'd love to see what you'd do, so come join us this week for our Sweet Stampin' Bingo Challenge.

The papers I've used are really ancient but still utterly delish from an 8x8 First Edition paper stack called Summer Breeze. I love the glittered embossing on this paper, half the stack is embossed like this and they're really pretty papers. I've used orange Baker's Twine and diecut a flower using my Marianne Design Craftables Circle & Flower Stitch die. I also diecut the image with a Lil' Inker rectangle stitched mat die. I do love these sets, they cut beautifully. I added a strip of embossed cream cardstock behind the image for the second embossed element and for my finishing touch added a Wild Orchid Crafts orange rose over the diecut flower and twine. I'd only had twine originally, which I'd really liked, but my hubby and nephew thought it looked pants, so I added the diecut flower and WOC rose and they both thought it was a vast improvement. Hmm, not convinced, but I took their word for it.

The gorgeous stamp I've used is a Sugar Nellie stamp. Those who follow my blog closely will know I have a bit of a love affair with Sugar Nellie stamps, but I've not had much time to craft lately and not been able to pull out my Sugar Nellie stamps for quite a while, so it was fun to have a little play with my Distress Inks and this sweet image which is called Goosey Gander which you can find in both rubber and digital form here

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Bunny Zoe's Crafts, so the lucky winner is in for a real treat. I love that store! I hope you'll come and join in our fun challenge this week and I'll be back again really soon with another crafty adventure. Big hugs, Wends x

Loves Rubberstamps - Sensational Sunday Bloghop

I am knackered! This week has been a whirlwind, exhausting, elating and has whizzed by at breakneck speed. Both my kiddies have been recovering from nasty bugs, so have been playing tag as to who stayed home from school these past two weeks. On a happier note, one of my darling pals has just had a baby girl and I have been totally absorbed in this journey and this sweet soul. Ah the miracle of new life. The elating, all consuming, exhausting early days of new life! Love it!!

Now it's time for another Loves Rubberstamps weekly Sensational Sunday Blog Hop! The Design Team has been busy creating some gorgeous projects for your Inspiration. Click on each link in the Hop and leave a comment to be in with a chance of winning the mystery prize. If you get lost along the way, each stop will have a full list of links. Remember, you have until 8:00 pm CST Saturday to leave your comments! So come hop along with us and be inspired to create.

This week I've used a fun stamp from the 'Some Odd Girl' photopolymer range called On Safari. I gave this to my pal while she was waiting for bubba to arrive. I had a feeling it was going to be a little girl, so I was keeping my girlie newborn card for the birth. But loved this set and wanted her to have this one too, so gave this as a 'waiting for baby' card. I fussy cut the image and mounted it with dimensional foam pads to make it 'pop off the page'. This gorgeous stamp set comes with some awesome sentiments of it's own, but I chose to use a lovely sentiment from a Whiff of Joy set called Baby Sentiments which fit the theme of my card far better.

I initially stamped the sentiment straight onto the backing paper, but it just didn't stand out enough, so I cut a cute fishtail flag from one of my smaller MFT fishtail stax dies and then trimmed the end to the size I wanted and added the sentiment. It looked much better once I did this. Here's a look at what it was like beforehand.

Southern Girls - Tic Tac Toe

Hey there lovely blog pals. I am skipping in here after a hugely busy week, which included poorly kiddos and the miracle of new life! So so sooooooo excited that one of my best pals just had a gorgeous baby girl and she's just delish. I'm late with everything this week though, especially my blog posts as my energy has been very much with my pal this week. Better late than never as they say, so here, finally, is my Design team post for the latest Southern Girls challenge.

This week we are being sponsored by two fabulous sponsors, so we will have two lucky winners this challenge. PpinkyDolls and The East Wind are our sponsors.

This challenge we are using a Tic Tac Toe board, and you must choose either a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line of three to use in the creation of your card. I chose the central vertical line - Patterned Paper, Gold and Die/Punch, though I managed to sneak in some Glitter and Mist too!

RIBBON

For my DT creation this week, I've used a stunning image from The East Wind. I just love it, it's called 'Aurora - Spring Butterfly'. I think this image is so enchanting, so dreamy and wistful. I love it to bits! So I tried to give the card an airy, dreamy feeling, leaving lots of white space and not crowding the image with too many embellishments, though I did go OTT with the butterflies! LOL. I used the diecut waste from a butterfly border die to create the little butterflies and a small punch to create the larger butterflies. I sprayed them first with a generous Spritz of Antique Gold Perfect Pearls Mist to create the 'Gold' element of my card. I also went for blonde tones in her hair to add to that 'Gold' theme.

I was really drawn to using Green in my creation to echo those lovely fresh cut lawn green nature tones, so I added a layer of green under the image to suggest she's laying on soft Spring grass. I added some glitter to the flower garland in her hair and to the butterfly image. I chose a green paper to carry that Spring grass theme through. This is from a set I won from Bev Rochester a couple of years ago, so I am not 100% sure who this paper is from. It has bunnies in a wood on the reverse and I want to say they're BoBunny, but I'm not positive. If you know for sure, feel free to tell me! I've inked the edge of the image with one of my green promarkers - grass green actually. But apart from cutting the image at a bit of an angle, it's a very CAS card as I really wanted the image to feature.

The pics are pants, sorry, it's really bad lighting today for photos, but I'm much more excited about going for snuggles with bub, so I'll remedy this tomorrow. I'll catch y'all again soon. Hugs, Wends x

Loves Rubberstamps - All Dressed Up

Hey there all my lovely blogging pals. I am racing out the door to go and be with my buddy who is in labour. So this is going to be a 'holding page' post, until I can get back to write up detes. It's time for another Loves Rubberstamps challenge and we have an awesome one for you this week - Spots & Dots. So here's my card and I'll come back and write up the details when I'm back from the hospital.

The rest of the Loves Rubberstamps team have been hard at work with their gorgeous DT makes, so go check those out and I'll be back soon with more detes on mine.

Running out door... Wends x

...I'm back!

Thanks for waiting for me. Now where was I? Oh yes, we are being sponsored this challenge by the wonderful team at All Dressed Up Stamps. I've used a gorgeous stamp for my creation called Girl On A Bike. How wistful and sweet is this lil' character. I just loved the flowers in her hair and I just couldn't stop at a simple outline when I was adding colour around the image. I got totally carried away and drew in the entire background! I wanted it to be a sunny day with blue skies, so there's not a cloud to be seen. (Okay, I'll fess up and be honest, that I'm really pants at cloud techniques, but that said, I really LIKE how this turned out.)

Now to tell you about my adventures with this creation. I found these gorgeous My Mind's Eye papers called Summer Fresh from the Simple Stories range, which fit our Spots and Dots theme perfectly with their lovely green dotty paper and the sweet denim floral. If you think you've seen me use this recently, you're not wrong! I did and you can see that here. The circle on this card, is actually the 'waste' cut from that card. The die I used is actually a Lil' Inkers die, but Laura has a very similar one in the store from MFT, which you can find here

You can find all the links for the supplies I used below. Love, love, LOVE my Tool 'n' One, sooooo happy I bought that bit of kit. Works a treat for getting those tricky little diecut pieces loose. Also really loving my non-stick craft sheet. A truly brilliant bit of kit. So much easier cleaning up my inky, gluey messes when I've been using this! Now I just have to remember to use it EVERY time! LOL. I'm loving my Wink of Stella pens too. I used these on the flowers in the bike basket for that added bit of shine and glitz. It doesn't show at all well in the above pic, but it's got a pretty sparkle in reality.

Supplies Used:
Colouring Medium: Alcohol Ink
Sentiment: Whiff of Joy ~ Adventure Awaits
Stitched Circle Die: MFT Stitched Circle Stax
Stamping Medium: Tuxedo Black Memento Ink

Head on over to the Loves Rubberstamps challenge and check out what my awesomely talented teamies have been up to. You're sure to be inspired. That's it from me tonight. I'm off to bed, because I'll be back up to the hospital early tomorrow morning. Catch ya on the flip side! Hugs, Wends x

This week I've used a fun stamp from the 'Some Odd Girl' photopolymer range called Hipster Kody. I can't even begin to tell you how perfect this stamp is for one of our best mates who had his birthday this week. He's Danish, tall and blonde, and every bit the dude in this stamp. When I saw this, I just knew it was meant for his birthday card. The stamp comes with some awesome sentiments of it's own, but I chose to use a lovely sentiment from a Whiff of Joy set called Magic Moments to tell him how much we love and miss him. It's his little boys birthday soon after, so I'll be cracking on with his birthday card next. Miss our lovely friends like crazy. Sweden, where they live, is just too far away from New Zealand!

So, you should have arrived here to my blog from Rebecca Billard. Don't you just love her styley skills?! Such a gorgeous creation this week. Your next stop in the Hop after mine is the fabulous Nick. You're gonna love what she has in store for you! Super fab! Have fun hop hop hoppity hopping! :)

Sweet Stampin' - Something Old, Something New

Well it's been a stand still kinda week for me and my crew this week. I've had one or other or both of the kids home from school all week! Bah, Winter bugs! I could seriously do without them!

On a happier note, it's time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stampin' blog and we have a great challenge for you this week, 'Something Old, Something New'. I'm so looking forward to seeing how you all interpret this! Our fabulous sponsor this challenge is the wonderful Ribbon Girl, so the winner is in for a super treat!

I've made a baby diary for my sister to use in these early baby days. To record those special moments, write down those appointments and journal the joys of parenthood. You might recall I did something similar for my buddy who's due to have her baby any day now, to journal the lead up to her baby's arrival. You can see that post here. I love, love, LOVE these fabulous Kraft journals I picked up recently for a great price. I've been really enjoying embellishing these. They're a great backdrop for an embellished journal.

My 'Something Old' for this challenge, is the sweet Lili of the Valley baby stamp which I have had for quite a while. I bought it as soon as it was released. I love this stamp so much for newborn makes and use it loads! Lili of the Valley, have such a gorgeous range of newborn stamps, they're my 'go to' for new baby makes.

My 'Something New' for this challenge, are the gorgeous Michele Roos papers. These are not digital papers, but lovely thick gorgeous quality physical papers. A new line that Michele has recently released. Oh my goodness they are yummy! I love this divine Butterflies and Hummingbirds set. I'm so pleased with them, I know I'll be ordering more before long.

I have seen others using these 'Blueprints' sets from MFT and they look so fabulous as the base layers for a project, so I thought I'd splash out recently and buy a lovely one I came across called Blueprints 12. I've used the stitched rectangle as the image base for this make and the stars and hearts come from the same set. It was such a good fit for this image too, with the sweet hearts and stars scattered around the image.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing what I did with our 'Something Old, Something New' theme and I can't wait to see what you do, so do come and join us this week. Head on over to the blog to check out what the rest of my awesomely talented teamies have been up to. You're sure to be inspired! See you all again soon for my next craft adventure. Big hugs, Wends x
